Google places a strong focus

Post by chandonaran »

Tip: Make the words that are semantically the most important parts of the web page slightly larger. Think extra carefully about your subheadings (H2, H3, etc.)
Maximum number of tokens : from the description of the tag 'numTokens' it can be concluded that Google determines the ratio of the total number of words in the text to the number of unique tokens. There is also apparently a maximum number of tokens the system can weigh.

Tip: as a writer, place the most important semantic content (terms) at the top of the page. For Google you no longer have to write pages with 10,000 words. They probably don't take that extra bulk of text into account.
6. Google attaches importance to the date and topicality of a page
Dates on pages : on the topicality of a page with three tags. For example, they look at the explicit date on the page (bylineDate), the date from the URL or title (syntacticDate), and the semantic date from the content of the page (semanticDate).

Tip: Be consistent in using dates in your pages. This must therefore be the same in the structured data, page titles and in the XML sitemap.
7. Google values YMYL (Your Money Your Life) pages differently
YMYL score : Google clearly gives separate classifiers to health and new-related pages within this genre with 'ymylHealthScore' and 'ymylNewsScore'. They also seem to try to find out whether Turkey Phone Number content is YMYL content with 'encodedChardXlqYmylPrediction'.

Tip: do you manage a website in the health industry? Be aware that Google is extra strict on these types of websites. Make sure you meet all the requirements that Google sets for YMYL websites.
Websites with >50% videos : if more than half of your website consists of pages where video plays a leading role, you will receive different treatment from Google. This suggests the 'isVideoFocusedSite' tag. You will probably be displayed more often for search terms where watching a video is the search intention.

Tip: if you mainly focus on video, first check (in your SEO tool) whether a search term calls up videos in the SERP. This way you increase your chance of being shown there.
8. Google treats small, personal sites differently
Personal websites are classified with the tag 'smallPersonalSite'. It is unclear what this practically means for the rankings of such a website. But, with common sense you could conclude that such websites should not rank for business and YMYL search terms.

Tip: do you manage a smaller, personal website? Then be aware of your realistic chances of scoring in Google's search results. Don't count yourself rich. For example, focus on lower volume non-YMYL search terms. Avoid business search terms. These positions are often taken by real (large) companies.
9. Google checks how 'on topic' a page is compared to the entire website
Google uses vector embeddings and compares the content of pages (pageEmbedding) with the general content of the site (siteRadius and siteEmbedding) to measure relevance and focus (siteFocusScore).
