The true origin of the Internet dates back to 1958. The USA founded the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network or Network of the Agency for Advanced Research Projects of the United States (ARPA) through the Ministry of Defense. This organization consisted of about 200 scientists, whose goal was to create direct communications between computers. Years later they succeeded. ARPANET ARPANET was a computer network that collected the best ideas from teams at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the National Physics Laboratory (UK), and the Rand Corporation. The network grew and in 1971 the ARPANET project had already managed to connect 23 points . ARPANET stands for Advanced Research Projects Agency Network, that is, the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. The belief that the ARPANET was built to survive nuclear attacks remains a myth today. On the other hand, many believe that it was designed to withstand network failures, arguing that switching nodes at the time were unreliable. The reality is that ARPA was a program financed by the Pentagon, which probably had military interests behind the creation of ARPANET.
